In Uprise Version 1.3.4, you'll find better claims and scheduler functionality as well as a new report. This release also addresses a number of bugs that may have impacted your practice.

Bulk Edit: You are now able to bulk edit the Status, Revenue Stream, and Price of Frames, Standard Contact Lenses and Professional Services. (See Training Article)

  • You are now able to create new fee schedules with an allowed amount for professional services that have a fee in your catalog.
  • The allowed amount set in the fee schedule will be reflected on Invoices.

You are now able to maintain Resource Availability (See Training Article)

  • Add a new resource, view a list of scheduler resources associated with a specific location, and add and edit a non-provider scheduler resource
  • View and update the status (activate/inactivate) of scheduler resources

Resource Availability and Office Hours: You are now able to override the default office hours and availability for a resource for each day of the week. (See Training Article)

Claims

Recoupments: You are now able to apply insurance recoupments from an ERA/EOB. Upon posting the ERA/EOB, the selected payment will be recouped from the original invoice and applied to the new invoice. Invoice balances will also be updated accordingly. (See Training Article)

Chargebacks: You are now able to record chargebacks while posting an ERA/ EOB. (See Training Article)

Claims Tracking Workflow: The claim action button now supports all possible actions for a multi-remittance claim such as allowing the user to view posted ERAs/EOBs and posting a new ERA/EOB.

Remittance Details

  • You are now able to view the reason codes and group codes for insurance adjustments on the ERA/EOB view.
  • You are now able to manually link the appropriate Uprise Insurance in the event that an incoming ERA payer does not have an exact match to an Uprise Insurance. ERAs that are received and require matching can be found using the “Show ERAs with Un-Linked Payers” button on the Remittance Tracking page. (See Training Article)

Invoice

Modify Insurance: You are now able to edit the insurance for an Rx order and professional service in a posted invoice without processing a return or exchange. (See Training Article)

Procedure Quantity: Quantities designated for a procedure completed in an exam in the EHR will now be updated in Invoices.

Rx Order

“No Lens” Refractions: If "No Lens" is designated for an eye in a contact lens refraction in an exam in the EHR, the lens product will automatically be selected as "No Lens" when importing a prescription in an Rx order.

Patient Statement Report (See Training Article)

  • This report allows you to print paper statements to collect outstanding balances from patients.
  • You are able to print up to 45 patient statements.
  • A tear off section is available on the patient statement containing statement date, balance due, and a placeholder for credit card/check number and signature to be mailed to the customer.

Day Sheet Report:

  • We’ve added a “Balance Transfer” column to reflect balance transfers between the patient and insurances.
  • “Patient Credit” will now display in the report.

Headers: Group headers will now display on every page of a multi-page report.

EHR Features & Enhancements

EHR - Clinical Summary

Review Medications and Allergies: If no medication exists in the CCD, "No Known Medications" will display. If no allergies exist in the CCD or exam, "No Known Allergies" will display.

EHR - Coding

Fee Level: You are now able to designate a Fee Level for the following CPT codes:

  • 92499: Unlisted Ophthalmological Service or Procedure
  • 99499: Unlisted Evaluation and Management Service

EHR - Exam

Diagnosis Selection: You are now able to select "Benign Neoplasm of Ciliary Body" (D31.4) from the Iris/Chamber tissue in the Physical Exam.

Normal Exam Reviewed: "Physical examination finished, all ophthalmic conditions reviewed as normal" will now be relabeled as "All other remaining ophthalmic conditions reviewed as normal".

Rendia Integration: In the rare event that Rendia content could not be sent to the patient’s online portal, you will now be able to manually retry the transmission.

EHR - Message Center

Zip Files: You are now able to open a ZIP file attachment in a secure message.

EHR - Refraction

“Not Recorded” Refractions: You are now able to designate "Not Recorded" for each eye, for the following refractions: SP Rx Presenting, CL Rx Presenting, CL Rx Trial refractions, Retinoscopy, Autorefraction, Wavefront, Cyclopegic, and Manifest. (You are not able to designate "Not Recorded" for Final and Alternate refractions.)

EHR - Refraction

Balance Lens

  • You are now able to designate "Balance Lens" as a lens type for each eye of a Spectacle Lens Refraction.
  • The eye condition will be selected as "Balance Lens" for the appropriate eye when importing a spectacle lens prescription that contains "Balance Lens" on to an Eyeglasses Rx Order.

Prism Sliders: You are now able to select the Horizontal and Vertical prism values and direction in one selection on the upgraded refraction prism sliders.

EHR - Visit Note Printout

Printout: You are now able to view the following Binocular Vision Information in compact mode: Test Name, Applicable Test Data, and Note.

Admin

Catalogs

  • Duplicate Manufacturers: Duplicate Frames and Standard Contact Lens manufacturers will no longer display when selecting products.
  • We've resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error when adding an inactive product category to catalogs.
  • We've resolved an issue that was causing values to prepopulate when you search for product attributes. You are now able to select from a drop down list when adding spectacle lenses.

Claims

Remittance Details (ERA): We've resolved an issue that was causing an invalid character error in the ICN/DCN when posting ERAs.

Claims Tracking: We've resolved an error that was causing incorrect results to display for claims in the selected date range and status on the Claims Tracking page.

EHR Tab

Patient Slider: The list of today's upcoming patients will now display in chronological order, by date and time.

EHR - Clinical Summary

Care Team Import: All members of the care team, including external providers, will now be imported in the Patient Clinical Summary when importing via Global Import or Care Team Import.

Global Import: Orders will now populate in the CCD when you select "Global Import".

EHR - Coding

Diagnosis Selection: We’ve resolved an issue that was causing incorrect diagnosis codes to be associated with the eye location selection C44.10, C44.11, C44.12, C44.19.

EHR - Configure

Patient Education: Patient counselling material removed from the clinic catalog will no longer appear in new exams.

EHR - Medications

Import Medication: Current medications will now be properly imported when you select "Done" or "X" on Medications.

EHR - Exam

Binocular Vision Test: You are no longer able to make edits on a signed exam, including binocular vision tests.

“What & When” Section: The "Referred by" field will now only display external care providers and have scrolling functionality when searching for providers.

ICD-10 Description: ICD-10 description is now displayed in the physical exam instead of the clinical description.

“More” Button: Selections will no longer be deselected when “More” is selected in the following sections: Physical Exam History, Get Device Data, Chief Complaint, and Assessment History.

Historic Exams: The "Quantity Empty" error message will no longer display when accessing historic exams (created before 12/15/2015.)

Annotation Tool: The eraser tool on the Eye Annotations is working properly to only erase drawings where selected by the cursor.

EHR - Refractions

Scrolling: We’ve added scrolling functionality that allows you to access all search results for Contact Lens Products.

Usages: We've resolved the issue that was causing an unexpected error when saving removed Usages from Refractions.

Invalid fields: We've resolved an issue that was causing fields to turn red and invalid when selecting a Contact Lens Product before Contact Lens Type.

EHR - Report

Vitals Report: We've resolved an issue that was causing an error when running the Vitals Report.

Patient List Report: We've resolved an issue that was causing an error when running "Patient List Demographics with #encounters in date range" report.

Patient Profile

Patient Balance: Patient balances are now updated to reflect the current balance owed.

Reports

Day Sheet Report: We've resolved an issue that was causing a miscalculation with the insurance invoice amounts when two carriers are present.

Rx Order

Time Display: Times will no longer be displayed for date of service on the Rx Order of Rx Printout when an eyeglass order is posted to a new invoice.
