November 2024 Release Notes

We are pleased to present Uprise release notes for November 2024.

Practice Management Updates

3.1.181 - November 6, 2024 Release:

  • Users can now return search results in the Patients tab using the patient Date of Birth search parameter alone. (Note that users can still search by Date of Birth in addition to other parameters as needed.)
  • Searches in the Recall tab have been improved, as the Date Range parameter will now return search results in bi-directional chronology, displaying recall item results from both before and after the selected range accordingly.
  • The appointment menu display has been improved with a new indicator visible when the appointment has a note entered.
  • Updated insurance payments are now reflected in the Note section of the Total Receipts report.
  • We have improved the provider view Glance Sheet by including reason, date, and time for appointments that are scheduled with a non-provider resource.
  • Rx eyeglass orders have been improved with the inclusion of an NVB data field on the order printout:

EHR Updates

3.1.181 - November 6, 2024 Release:

  • Updated the SNOMED CT codesystem version to US Edition March 2024.
  • Updated the CVX codesystem version to January 25th, 2024.
  • Updated the NDC codesystem version to January 2024.
  • Updated "units" field present to align with latest version.
  • In the Health Summary tab, users can now print a history of all IOP measurements.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

3.1.181 - November 6, 2024 Release:

  • When utilizing unapplied payment credits on the new-format Uprise invoice, the system now prioritizes Pre-Payment credits before applying any other existing invoice credits to pay that invoice. (Note that the Patient > Ledger payments menu still allows users to to allocate payment types independently.)
  • Resolved a defect that prevented some orders from updating to "sent to supplier " status after the order had been submitted.
  • Resolved a defect that caused an incorrect patient age to appear on their Appointment report. A patient's correct age will now display on that report.
  • Resolved a defect that resulted in inconsistencies on some eyeglass orders related the order's sent date.
  • Resolved a defect that prevented all active providers at a practice from populating in the drop down list located in Box 17 of an insurance claim.
  • Resolved a defect that erroneously displayed the current date and time as the "last printed" date/time in the "last printed" column of the patient statement screen. That displayed date/time now accurately reflects the date that the statement was last printed.
  • Resolved a defect that caused incorrect account balances to on invoice screens when applying a discount before the user clicks "Save." Correct account balances will now display.
  • Resolved a defect that returned a user error message when selecting either vision or medical insurances on the Appointments report.
  • Resolved a defect that failed to respect the "include non-local patients" preference toggle in Patients tab search parameters.
  • Resolved a defect that prevented some organizations from printing patient filed claims. Such claim forms can now be printed as needed.
  • Resolved a defect in the Revenue by Insurance report that resulted in all sales attributed to an outside provider incorrectly displaying under a single provider.  The report will now properly associate all sales to their correct providers respectively.
  • Resolved a defect that failed to properly display balances in the Patient Ledger when the "Show Responsible Party Invoices" toggle is enabled.
  • Resolved a defect that prevented users from creating a secondary insurance claim from EOB dual-coverage. Users can now create secondary claims as needed.
  • Resolved a defect that intermittently resulted in a frozen screen when making a payment via the Patient > Ledger menus.
  • Resolved a defect on CMS printouts that truncated characters visible in boxes 32 and 33. CMS printouts will now properly display address data bases on max characters allowed in Boxes 32 (26 characters) and 33 (29 characters) in both the on-screen display and when printed with or without background.
  • Resolved a defect that, when crating appointments using the Calendar view of the Scheduler tab, prevented the appointment from also displaying in the Appointments view of that tab.
  • Resolved a defect that intermittently caused a site's appointments book in the Scheduler tab to appear "grayed-out."
  • Resolved a defect that occasionally prevented remittances from saving properly when adding a claim or adjustment.
  • Resolved a  defect that affected the display of menu options on the "claim summary" actions drop-downs.
  • Resolved a defect that caused the Appointments report to populate data incorrectly based on selected date ranges. The Appointments report will now correctly display data based on the selected date ranges.
  • Resolved a defect that resulted in improper date and time calculations relative to scheduled appointment times/dates when populating data on the Home screen.
  • Resolved a defect that intermittently resulted in an unexpected error when scheduling an appointment with a Technician selected.
  • Resolved a defect that caused an unexpected error when changing the insurance payer on an open claim.
  • Resolved a defect that prevented the display and selection of the secondary payer(s) from a patient's profile in the "Xfer to" drop down on the claim remittance  screen.
  • Resolved a defect that caused inaccurate calculation of the date/time for a location relative to the GMT time, which had resulted in an inaccurate date range when running the Appointments Report.
