We are excited to reveal Uprise Version 1.3.5. On top of feature enhancements, we’ve also addressed a number of bugs that may have impacted your practice.

Practice Management System Features & Enhancements

Admin

Catalogs

  • The "Add Product" button for Product Category "4-Standard Contact Lenses" is now available and you may resume importing contact lens products to your catalogs.
  • The "Add Product" modal for Product Category "4-Standard Contact Lenses" will be no longer include any master product selections for Soft Toric and Soft Multifocal Toric lenses. (If these lens types are selected, then only previously imported or user-created products and "Custom" will display in the Manufacturer, Series, and Unit/Pack drop down fields).

Claims

EOBs and ERAs

  • You are now able to enter a $0.00 payment amount and adjustment on the "Add/Delete Adjustments" modal for EOBs.
  • The headings "View EOB" or "View ERA" will now display accordingly when a remittance is selected.

Invoice

Patient Credit (See Training Article)

  • We've added new patient credit functionality. You are now able to:
    • Pay for patient’s invoice balance with credit
    • Use linked account's patient credit balance to pay for patient's invoice balance
    • Generate patient credit from paid returned invoice line item
    • See patient credit payment on day sheet report
  • "Credit Balance" is now relabeled to "Available Credit Balance".
  • We've also added an "Applied Payment" and "Remaining Credit Balance" field.
Invoice

Refund Payment: You are now able to enter a number (with or without a sign) and it will automatically be formatted to a negative number.

Posted Invoice: You are now able to edit the following on a posted invoice without processing a return or exchange:

  • Professional services
  • Rx orders
  • Insurance on an Rx order for standard and custom contacts

Payment: You are now able to apply payment for individual invoice lines for payment methods (cash, credit card, debit card, check, other) and pay one or more invoice lines. (See Training Article)

Reports

Overall: We relabeled the "Date" parameter to the "Post Date" and “Date of Service” on the following reports:

  • Post Date: Sales Tax Report, Day Sheet Report, Deposit Ticket Report, Production Report: Invoice Basis, Production Report: Receipt Basis, Total Receipt Report
  • Date of Service: Aging Report: Patient Balance, Aging Report: Insurance Balance, Aging Report: Combined Balance

Aging Report: Balance Transfers will now display based on the date of balance transfer instead of the date of service.

Day Sheet Report: "Private Pay" is now an option on the Insurance drop down menu.

Patient Statement Report: You will now receive a notification when selected patient statements are generated. You may resume using Uprise while waiting for the reports to be created. (See Training Article)

Reports

Sales Tax Report

  • The "Net Fee" in the report summary and transactions section is now relabeled to "Taxable Fee".
  • We've added a "Taxable Fee" column that will display total taxable fees. The summary will also display the total taxable fee for each tax authority.
  • You now have the ability to run your sales tax report on a cash basis (paid sales tax) or accrual basis (posted sales tax).

Special Characters

  • The Address 1 and Address 2 field will now allow the usage of - # . , ; : ' ° & / ( )
  • The City field will now allow the usage of : - . , ; ' & / ( )

EHR Features & Enhancements

Assessments

Refractions

  • We’ve updated the SNOMED Mappings for Eye Diagnoses (H00-H59).
  • The following codes will automatically populate in Assessment if the Manifest refraction contains Add values:
    • H52.4 (Presbyopia) if the patient is 40 years old or older
    • H52.7 (Unspecified disorder of refraction) if the patient is less than 40 years old
  • H53.30 (Unspecified disorder of binocular vision) will now automatically populate if the Manifest refraction contains any prism values.

Order Treatments: Order treatments will no longer display in the Assessment modal.

CCD

Orders: Orders in a Clinical Summary will now be based on the exam date associated with the order.

Incoming CCDs: You are now able to access and perform reconciliations on messages with multiple CCD files and attachments.

Treatments: The Clinical Summary and CCD will now only include each treatment once in the Plan of Care even if the same treatment was included for multiple diagnoses.

Overall

Patient Slider: You are now able to view and access appointments from the patient slider even if the appointment status is inactive.

Bugs & Other Improvements

Claims

Claim Notes: Notes saved on the claim summary will be now be properly retained on the claim after it has been submitted manually and/or electronically.

Rx Orders: Rx orders will now load when you click on the Rx Order link from the claims tracking table even when multiple orders are on a claim.

EHR

Medications

  • The doctor entered in "Replace current doctor" field in medications will now be saved properly.
  • We've resolved an issue that was causing an error when accessing a patient record created before 2/3/16 with duplicate medications.
  • Duplicate medications will no longer be imported when importing existing medications.

Refraction

  • H52.0X (Hypermetropia) will now only display if the Manifest refraction contains a plus-sphere value, instead of when "Not Recorded" is selected.
  • Z01.0X will now display appropriately.  

Patient Slider: Only appointments for the session location will be displayed in the patient slider.

Rx Order

Optical Center Value: The OC value will now display on the Rx Order printout.

Reports

Patient Statement Report: "Other" payment and "Patient Credit" will now display in the patient statement under payment descriptions.

Invoice

Rx Order: Rx orders are now properly removed and all previously added professional services will remain unchanged when an Rx order is deleted from the invoice using the action column.
