We are excited to introduce to you Uprise Version 1.3.3.2. On top of feature enhancements, we focused our efforts on providing better reporting and claims functionality in this release. We've also addressed a number of bugs that may have impacted your practice. Details on what we updated are below - enjoy!
Admin
Catalogs: You now have the ability to bulk import frames by manufacturer.
Setup
- You are now able to add multiple addresses to any insurance in Admin, and then select an insurance address (from those added in Admin) from the Patient Profile.
- You are now able to add multiple plan names for each insurance company.
- The insurance list is now displayed alphabetically when searching for insurances.
Claims
Recreate Claim
- "Resubmit Claim" is now relabeled as "Recreate Claim".
- Recreating a claim will now allow you to create a Corrected Claim, Voided Claim, or Original Claim.
- When recreating a corrected or voided claim, the ICN/DCN number entered in the last posted ERA/EOB will auto-populate in Box 22 with an option to edit the ICN/DCN number if needed.
- We've added a column to the Claim Tracking page that displays a link to a Recreated Claim if there is one available from an Original Claim.
Remittance Details (ERA - Electronic Remittance Advice)
- The ERA Adjudication Date will now match the ERA "Check Date".
- We resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error when "Other" payment type is selected in Remittance Details.
- Secondary Payer information will now display if a primary claim has been forwarded to a secondary payer.
- You are now able to enter an ICN (Internal Control Number)/DCN (Declaration Control Number) number when you post an ERA/ EOB.
- The amount shown in the Insurance and Patient Responsibility column will now reflect remaining balances after the invoice is posted.
- We've optimized the interface of the ERA modal by updating the header and text font to be consistent with the rest of the page and abbreviating headings.
Post Payment
- Adjustments will now be posted when you post an ERA/EOB.
- All claim statuses will now be updated properly when a multi-claim ERA is posted.
Claim Summary
- EOBs (Explanation Of Benefits) and ERAs are uneditable and in read only mode in Secondary Claims.
- We've increased the character limit in Box 1a so the entire Insured's ID number will now display in both the Claim Summary and in the CMS 1500 form.
- Box 19 will now display the Assumed Date and Relinquished Date when printed.
- You are now able to enter up to 20 characters in Box 23.
- Box 31 will now display the date of service and signature of the provider when you view the claim in both the Claim Summary and CMS 1500 form.
Claim Tracking
- You are now able to filter Claim Tracking results by date of service and a specific date.
- Claims in Closed status will now have an updated stautus from "Closed" to "ERA Available" when a matching ERA is received.
Taxonomy Codes: Rendering Provider taxonomy codes will now be displayed in the electronic claim.
Invoice
Transfer Responsibility: We've disabled the ability to "Transfer Responsibility" to the insurance in Invoices if a patient does not have insurance associated with the invoice line item.
Reports
We're excited to reveal the new and improved Reports section of Uprise. We've revamped many of our existing reports to provide better information and even added a new Sales Tax Report. Here's a complete list of reports available in the Reports Tab:
Sales Tax Report: This report determines how much sales tax is owed to tax authorities based on posted/paid invoices.
Day Sheet Report: This report shows all financial transactions, including sales, payments/refunds, returns, voids, write-offs, discounts and adjustments conducted for the selected day.
Deposit Ticket Report: This report determines payments such as cash, checks, travelers checks, etc. that will be deposited in the bank at the end of day or selected date range.
Production Report - Invoice Basis: This report analyzes the sales of your practice based upon posted invoices.
Production Report - Receipt Basis: This report analyzes the sales of your practice based upon received payments.
Total Receipts Report: This report audits all payment transactions (electronic and non-electronic). The report summarizes all payments by cash, checks, credit card, debit card, EFT, etc.
Aging Report - Patient Balance: This report summarizes all balances owed to your practice by patients, not including insurance balances.
Aging Report - Insurance Balance: This report summarizes all balances owed to your practice by insurance companies, billed on behalf of patients.
Aging Report - Combined Balance: This report summarizes all balances owed to your practice by patients, including insurance balances.
Each report will also offer the following:
New Interface: We've updated the interface of the Reports Tab and all reports to look cleaner and more intuitive.
Exporting Options: You are able to export all reports in three different formats:
- A spreadsheet formatted to match the report interface in Uprise
- A non-formatted spreadsheet in CSV
- A PDF to print reports
Display
- Reports will display information about what the report has run and which parameter selections and filters were selected.
- Parameters shown can be hidden or modified from the page.
- Each report comes with a Summary section summarizing details of the report.
EHR - Assessments
Plano Manifest Refraction: Z01.00 will now populate in Assessment if there are no diagnoses in the refraction for both eyes and Z01.01 will display if a diagnosis exist in the refraction.
Display Eye Location: Laterality of the eye (OD, OS, and OU) is now displayed in Assessments.
EHR - Coding
Quantity Field: You are now able to designate the quantity for a procedure completed in an exam. The quantity value in this field will also be automatically updated based on the addition or removal of location modifiers. (NOTE: Quantity will need to be manually updated in Invoices.)
EHR - Configure
Treatment Code Mapping: The main treatment plan configured for a diagnosis will be displayed in the Assessment as long as Laterality (OD, OS, OU) and Lid location (If applicable) and Severity are selected in the Physical Exam.
EHR - Exam
Code Search Results: We've updated the code search functionality throughout the EHR to prevent the selection of non-billable ICD-10 codes.
ICD-10 Description: ICD-10 description is now displayed in the physical exam instead of the clinical description. The clinical description will still display in the expanded detail view.
EHR - Refractions
Contact Lens Refraction:
- You are now able to designate "No Lens" for each eye of a contact lens refraction from the CL type Drop down. (NOTE: Importing these prescriptions in an Rx order will require you to manually select "None" in Lens Product.)
- We've added refresh functionality that will notify you when changes to contact lens parameters are made to the Master and PM contact lens data.
EHR - Visit Note Printout
Assessment Details: The date and time of diagnosis, problem type, and eye location will now display in the Diagnosis/Plan section of the Visit Note printout in Compact Mode.
Unselected Orders: Unselected Orders will no longer be displayed in the Compact Mode of the Visit Note Printout.
EHR - Reports
2015 Meaningful Use Updates: We’ve updated Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use Reports to comply with 2015 Meaningful Use standards.
Overall
Practice Management and EHR
- You are now able to access a patient's health record through the Patient Summary Page even when a different patient record is open in the EHR.
- You are also able to access a patient's health record in the EHR through the Patient Summary Page when you create a new patient.
Admin
Catalogs
- You can now add multiple configurations to a custom frame.
- You are now able to add the same manufacturer for a different lens type using the custom selection for Standard Contacts.
- We've resolved an issue that was causing a custom value to be created even when an existing value is available in the drop down when adding a standard contact lens product.
- Products shown in Matching Products will now properly reflect the filtered options shown in Product Attributes.
- Statuses for products with multiple configurations will now update properly.
- We've resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error when trying to import or create custom frames with an apostrophe.
Setup
- You are able to set an imported or custom insurance to inactive from your insurance list.
- We've resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error when accessing Admin Insurances and Suppliers.
Claims
Remittance Details (ERA): We've resolved an issue that was causing an error when printing a CMS 1500 form for Secondary Claims when an "Insurance Type Code" starting with a letter is selected.
Claim Summary
- You are now able to manually attach more than two diagnoses pointers.
- Characters entered in Box 7 and Box 11 will now populate in the Claim Summary.
- We've resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error when trying to save fields in Box 10 and Box 15.
- Box 33 will now display the provider phone number when you print a CMS 1500 form.
- Box 33 in Claim Summary will now be an uneditable field. You can search for a billing provider in the drop down, but entered values will not be saved.
- We've resolved an issue that was causing an error when editing "Place of Service".
Post Payment
- We've resolved an issue that was causing Secondary ERAs to be posted as a second primary payment.
- The correct secondary payer name will now be displayed when a secondary crossover claim ERA is received and posted.
Claim Submission: You are now able to submit claims electronically with 12 ICD codes per claim.
Recreate Claim: All diagnosis codes and diagnosis pointers on the original claim will now display on a recreated claim.
EHR - Chief Complaint
Updated Summary: Summary tiles will now update accordingly when you change details in Chief Complaint and Binocular Vision.
EHR - Clinical Summary
Importing Vitals: We've resolved an issue that was preventing vitals from being imported into the Clinical Summary.
EHR - Configure
- Recommended Services: We’ve reduced the number of topics to 7 Recommendation Topics and they will now display when reviewed in the patient record.
- Display Provider Name: The Visit Note printout footer will now display the provider name associated with the exam.
- Treatment Code Mapping: You are now able to save changes made to treatment code mappings, including diagnoses that have parents.
EHR - Medications
Duplicate Medications Import: We've resolved an issue that was causing duplicate medication records to display when the "import medications" button is selected multiple times.
EHR - Refractions
Scrolling: We added scrolling functionality that allows you to access all search results for Contact Lens Products.
Invoice
ICD-10: Printed invoices will now properly reflect ICD-10 codes in the invoice.
Balance Transfers: Balance transfers from patient to insurance (and vice versa) made in Invoices will now be reflected in Aging Reports.
Rx Order
Edit Orders: You are now able to edit an Rx Order more than once when it's in a "Ready to Order" Status.
Search: A frame search is only activated when you click enter or on the magnifying glass icon.
Save Functionality: We've resolved an issue that was causing an unexpected error after returning a contact lens Rx order with an insurance associated with the order.
