- The threshold for this measure is 5%.
For more details see the following knowledge base article: Objective 9: Secure Messaging For all Meaningful Use measures see Demonstrating Meaningful Use.
REDESIGNS! Saving Clicks and Improving Efficiency
- The "Insurance List" under the Admin tab now displays as a single list saving clicks and screen space.
- The dropdown Insurance list in the "Create Remit" window has been widened and is now alphabetical. This makes the list easier to search.
- The "New Benefit Request" window now blocks disabled locations.
- You are now able to upload multiple images per "Eye Location" in the Exam.
- The "Inventory on Hand Report" is now sorted in alpha descending order.
- The "New Recall" window has been updated with the following defaults to make it faster to create a recall.
Provider:
- If only one provider at the selected Location, default will be for that provider. Otherwise, the default will be to the blank option.
- Recall Date: Default to [Today] + 365 days
Delivery Method:
- Default to last used location (used by any user.)
- If the previous "Delivery Method" for the location is one that this patient does not have configured in their patient preferences, the delivery method will default to the first available method in the list.
- We added the ability to delete recalls from a patient if they were created in error or are no longer relevant. You can also delete old/irrelevant recalls from the Recall Tracking tab.
- On the Claims >Summary page, your last selection for the "Select Date Range" filter will be saved which avoids having to reselect it each time you click the tab.
- Several modifications have been made to make searching for claims from the "Claims Tracking" tab more efficient. Classification, Claim Type and Provider now have an "All" option added to the dropdown filter. Also, user changes in the search criteria begins to auto-search and update the list. This eliminates the need to click "Search."
- A change was made to the exam printout so the Exam Location Name now displays in the header and the footer instead of the organization name.
- We modified the Received Inventory report to include an "All" option for the "Product Category" filter. Also, the Received Inventory report now displays the SKU/UPC/FPC number in the selected attributes.
- When creating a new appointment, if either Resource, Date, or Time are blank, the "Appointment Type" dropdown will show only active appointment types.
- Inactive appointment types no longer display in the dropdown for New Appointments.
- The bulk import process performance has been improved to handle the import of large amounts of data.
- When a user opens an appointment from the scheduler grid and then closes it (either close or save) the user's scroll position on the grid is NOW RETAINED! It no longer jumps to the top of the window.
- When you run a search in the Standard Contact Lenses catalog the search filter for "Lens Type" will not clear when the "Search" button is pressed.
- The "Find Availability" feature for an appointment will now filter out times that are outside the office hours even if the provider's time is available.
- On the Scheduler Calendar view and Appointments View the last selected options in the "Location" and "Resources" filters are remembered during your open session. The filters clear when you logout of Uprise.
- Customers can now search for a Lens Product by SKU so a barcode scanner can be used when lenses are on hand.
- We added a "Refresh" button on the Optical/Checkout tab so customers can quickly refresh the patient list without having to click out of the tab and back in.
- When creating or editing an insurance record for a patient, you can now use a new search field to locate an "Insured Party Contact" or use a new dropdown titled "Linked Accounts." These new features will auto-populate the insured party demographic information.
- A lens product recommendation coming from the EHR for a product will populate on the Rx Order instead of having to search for the same item. For more details see knowledge base article: How to Enter Lens Product Details to a Spectacle Rx Order
- In the appointment mouse-over on the scheduler grid, the "Preferred Contact" is added below the first line that has the patient's name, age and gender.
- When viewing an Rx Order that has been posted to an Invoice you will now see the "Invoice number" below the "Order Status" for quick reference.
Insurance
- A modification was made to allow imported or custom insurances to be created without having a "Plan" required. In the past a plan called "Default" was auto-created and displayed incorrectly on the Claim.
- When updating a claim with an Auto Accident the "State" and "Accident Date" are required fields. Also, if there is an Other Accident added the "Date" is required.
- We've updated the claim to automatically populate the "Rendering Provider" as the "Referring Provider." This will eliminate future claim edits in most claims.
- When "Remove" is selected from any in-progress remittance, the claim will be removed from the list of invoices without any error.
- In order to ensure Invoice Payment totals match the Check Amount on an EOB remit, you will not be able to post the EOB if there is an amount in the "Remaining" field.
- You can no longer type information into the "Plan Name" field on a patient's insurance details. Plan names can only be selected from a predefined dropdown list.
- You can now delete an authorization or eligibility benefit from the patient's benefit list.
Rx Order
- We implemented a performance enhancement to speed up the "Change Type" function within a Rx Order.
- The positive values for "Sphere" are now displayed with the (+) sign in the order itself, when printing, and on the Optical/Checkout tab when generating a CL Rx Order.
- EHR "Special Lab Instructions" and the EHR "Note" now map to "Special Instructions to Supplier" and "Rx Notes" respectively in a Prescription Order in both view and printout.
- We updated the hover validation messages on many fields in the Rx Order for Eyeglasses and Standard CL providing more clear and accurate values.
- We updated the note that is displayed below the "Special Instructions" field on Eyeglasses Orders to read: "Note: Entering special instructions may delay delivery as the lab or supplier will need to manually review the order. Please do not use this field for expedite requests. Instead, contact the supplier if needed."
- When an Rx Order is created from a prescription with lens products and the user presses the "Clear Product Search" hyperlink, "No Lens" now appears as the first option in the "Lens Product" dropdown for the user to select.
- We disabled "Post to Selected Invoice" button when posting Rx Orders to an Invoice if there are no invoices created to select.
- Viewing an Rx Order now displays both the H.Prism and V.Prism with a space between the value and the direction.
- On a "Spectacle Lens Rx Order" print view, the direction of each prism (BI/BO - BU/BD) is now included.
- When submitting an Rx Order (supplier order) if certain errors are provided the error codes are now more descriptive. Error 3024: "3024 - Job Type Missing" Error 3025: "3025 - Frame Type Missing"
- If you click the "Add Misc Item" button on the "Return/Exchange" window on an invoice, you are now able to click any of the checkboxes to add a misc item.
Rx Order Generation from Optical/Checkout:
- When an Rx Order is generated from a prescription in the Optical/Checkout tab, the "Provider" field at the top of the Rx Order will populate as the provider who created the prescription.
- When creating a new Rx Order, if there is only one Provider at the location the "Provider" field will default to that one provider.
Rx Order Generation from Patient Tab:
- When a Rx Order is generated from the Patient tab and the user is a provider the "Provider" field at the top of the Rx Order will populate with the providers name.
- When creating a new Rx Order, if there is only one Provider at the location the "Provider" field will default to that one provider.
Admin Tab
- Importing "Professional Services" into the catalog now defaults the description to the AMA text if importing an existing code. Now the item will have the code number followed by the description.
- You can now delete an existing time block from a resource scheduler template. Click to read more on How to Delete a Scheduler Template Time Block
Invoices
- We corrected the Patient Ledger so when a "Credit" is used from a returned item and associated tax, the "Credit" line item is taken from the "Return" line item.
- The "Set Fee" field on an Invoice, Order Pricing, or Return/Exchange workflow you can now set the fee to $0.
- Now, when a provider has a suffix on their name it will print on the invoice receipt.
- An order that is posted to an invoice that is in "Draft" status can easily be removed from the invoice through the "Action" button option "Remove Order." Click to learn more How do I Remove an Order from an Invoice?
Messages
- In the message center, recipient type dropdown in the "To" field only shows active users. Before this fix customers saw both active and inactive users in the list.
- You can now reply to the sender of a "Task" created for you so I can easily provide an update to the sender.
- You are now able to copy and paste a table into the body of a message without having the table show up in the title of the message when it's sent.

- A bug that caused claims to not send electronically when a user edited a claim and modified box 17 to an "Ordering Provider (DK)” before posting. Now the system works as expected.
- A bug that caused payment lines to disappear from an EOB after adding additional Claims and trying to set a Chargeback.
- A bug that allowed some PFSH sections to be displayed in the Exam even though they were marked with "No." Now, only "Yes" and "Unknown" items will display.
- The "Yes," "No" and "Unknown" buttons under the "Other" category in PFSH-Patient Medical now display as expected when they are selected and deselected by clicking.
- An issue that caused a "404 error" when a user clicked the "Create Statement" button and then clicked the "Print" button.
- An error in the Patient Statement report that caused the displayed balance not to match the balance on the ledger and the aging report. In addition, balance transfers that are not in a status of deleted will be calculated into the balance.
