We are excited to reveal Uprise Version 1.3.6. On top of feature enhancements, we’ve also addressed a number of bugs that may have impacted your practice. Release Date: 05/03/2016
Invoice
Invoice Receipt
The Invoice Receipt now displays the following information:
- Adjustments, Discounts and Write-offs
- Sales Tax
- Balance Transfers
- Payment method (Cash, Patient Credit, Credit Card, Debit card, Check or Other)
- Refunds
- Insurance name and insurance responsibility
A “Summary Container” has been added which displays:
- Initial Invoice Balance - the sum of the initial patient responsibility before discounts, write offs, payments, or balance transfers.
- Discounts & Write-Offs - the sum of all of the patient discounts and patient write-offs for the invoice receipt
- Sales Tax - the sum of all of the patient sales tax
- Balance Transfer - sum of all of the balance transfers (Patient to insurance, Insurance to Patient)
- Refunds - sum of all patient refunds applied on this invoice
- Prior Balance Due - total of all other unpaid patient balances including dependent accounts unpaid balances
- Total Payment - sum of all patient payments on this invoice (including patient credits)
- Total Balance Due - sum of Initial Invoice Balance + prior balance due –Discounts - Write-Offs - Balance Transfers (from patient) + Balance Transfer (from insurance) - Refunds - Patient Payments
Additional "Header" information as been added: Clinic Tax ID, practice Website and patient Chart Number was moved to the right-hand side of the receipt.
Other:
- We’ve relabeled the “Service Date” heading to “Date” and it's now the first column.
- The “Insurance Amount” column heading has been relabeled to “Insurance” and “Patient Amount” is now “Patient.”
Patient Credit
- When a patient credit balance is applied to an invoice, the original invoice number that generated the credit will now be recorded in the payment history of the invoice that credit was applied to.

Patient Ledger
You are now able to quickly access detail of a patient's invoices and view them both by Patient transactions or Insurance transactions. How to Access the Ledger to View Detail of Patient Invoices
- Select Patient Transactions
- Click anywhere on the Invoice row (except the invoice) link to display Invoice Items and Transactions
- Click the View By: drop down and select Insurance to view invoice transactions
Admin
Catalogs
- The fee for all spectacle lenses is now a hyperlink that displays component prices, including differentials. How do I View Spectacle Lenses Components and Pricing?
- You are now able to edit a catalog fee item on the same day it was created.
- You are now able to select and view the associated frame wholesale cost when pricing frames. How can I Revert Back to Wholesale Cost for a Frame I Manually Updated?
Assessments
Treatments associated with refractive diagnoses will now be displayed in the Assessment tile of the exam.
Configure
You are now able to designate an "Exam Type" with an "Active" or "Inactive" status. Only exam types with an active status will display in the list when creating a new eye exam. How to Make an Exam Type Active or Inactive
Admin
Catalogs
- We resolved an issue preventing a catalog item's price to update if it was updated a second time for an effective date in the future.
- The system will now use Local Time instead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) when saving price updates. This resolved an issue that prevented price updates be saved after UTC midnight.
- The "Edit" and "Removed" links have been removed for the "Manual Pricing" window.
Claims
Tracking Table
- We resolved an issue that caused the checkbox to disappear next to existing claims after an insurance was inactivated under the Admin Tab.
- We resolved an issue that prevented further action on existing claims with an insurance recently inactivated in the admin tab. Now, when an insurance is inactivated you able to click the action button and perform the necessary actions based on claim status.
EHR
Configuration: If an Exam Type is reconfigured by removing the value from the "Code New Patient" or "Code Established Patient" fields the change will now be retained after save.
Orders: We resolved an issue that caused some customers to receive an error message when accessing orders and PQRS.
Review of Systems: We resolved an issue in the exam where clicking the "Reviewed" button in Review of Systems with no selection did not display a message that the section was reviewed.
Optical Prescription
We resolved an issue where Rigid CL Sphere 2 was not being transferred from the exam refraction to the Rx order.
Reports
Now discounts or adjustments added to an invoice after posting will display on the following reports:
- Patient Statement
- Day Sheet
- Sales Tax
- Aging Insurance
- Aging Patient
- Aging Combined
- Production Invoice Basis
