Recording New Complaints in an Exam

1. Click the plus sign '+' button

Setting a Chief Complaint does not trigger a diagnosis code in the exam. 

Click the plus sign '+' button

2. Double-click or tap the Complaint or Search for the Complaint

NOTE: The list is alphabetic, in two parts: first the starred complaints and then the non-starred complaints. Star a complaint if you see it frequently. It will be at the top next time you add a complaint

Double-click or tap the Complaint or Search for the Complaint

3. Enter the New Chief Complaint details > Click Done

Add the SNOMED CT by searching in the field to filter findings. NOTE: this is not a required field

Enter the New Chief Complaint details > Click Done

4. At the appropriate time: Click Set as Chief Compliant button to label the Primary Complaint

Note: The Chief Complaint can be set at anytime during the initial documentation and signing the exam
