How to Pull Benefits for Medical Payers Electronically

In order to pull benefits for a patient the patient name must match exactly with what the payer has in their system. Example, if you have Mrs. Lenore Smith as the patient name, most likely it will not match. Also, the ID must match exactly.

1. Pull up the patient record > Click Benefits > Click the medical insurance

2. Click New Benefit Request

3. Click Electronic

4. Enter the Begin/End Date for the encounter

5. Select Medical Services for Service Type

6. Click Submit

7. Once the Eligibility is electronically pulled you will be transferred back to the Benefits screen > Click Eligibility

8. Scroll down to view services and copays

If you do not see any benefits your information (patient name, ID) may not match the payer's information.
